  • The black Fox minion references his appearance as the main playable character in the Star Fox series, who serves as Slippy's teammate.
  • The green Greninja represents Slippy Toad, an amphibian character with a green color scheme.

Not only would this give the series the much-needed move forward it needs, but it would also be such an incredibly cool concept to see the classic game’s ending as a new game’s opening. The player will then get the hang of the game, and after they defeat Andross, a reimagined cutscene of the classic ending scene is played, before a badass intro sequence takes over to let you know that a brand new story is about to start, and the real game begins here.

Regardless, if a proper reboot does come along, you know what I’d love to see? A story that, rather than remaking once again the events that led to Andross’s defeat, instead picks up right after the events of his defeat.įor example, upon starting the game, there’s a short cutscene that retells the disappearance of James McCloud as well as the classic story campaign, before plopping Fox right into the final, climatic battle with Andross. I don’t think Nintendo will be visiting that timeline again, and we still don’t know whether Zero is supposed to be the start of a reboot timeline or not. You pretty much hit the nail on how I felt about Command.

TLDR: While ending 6 seems to be the most likely canon ending to command, with no direct sequels likely to be made, the game itself isn't really canon in the series at all. Thanks to anyone who actually decided to read all of that, it was not meant to be that long winded. I'm just hoping and praying that some day there will be one at all.

At this point there really is no guarantee what the next installment will be or when it will be if ever. Of course they could also do something completely off the wall like adventures or the rumors of grand prix, but that also seems fairly unlikely. They could do a reboot, but that's essentially what zero already was, and as we know that didnt do so great, which is also why it might be unlikely to continue the series from there. The 64 timeline is technically the only canon one and is by far the most popular, but with the last entry in that particular line being made so long ago, it would be odd if they decided to just make another one in that series. As of now, it's hard to say what the next star fox game will actually be though. So, command itself will probably remain not canon unless if a sequel is made off of one of the endings, but at this point I really don't see that happening (unless if grand prix actually does end up happening in which case I wont even know what to say anymore). Arwingpedia, the star fox wiki, seems to agree with this second option, saying that the only canon titles in the whole series are 64, adventure, and assault, as command is not considered canon for the reasons stated above, and just about every other title is basically just a re-telling of the events of the Lylat war, with 64 being the truest version of that and being the only one to have a direct line of sequels. So then, if nintendo has never officially announced any of the endings canon, and theres not going to ever be a follow up to the game to announce one of the endings as canon, then technically all of the endings (no matter how absurd) are either equally canonical or just none of them are canon at all. That being said, I agree that there is little to no chance they make any sort of sequel to command, considering it is probably the least popular entry in the franchise as well as the fact that it has been over a decade since it came out, and can very well be another decade until the next star fox game comes out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but ending 6 (the one where Dash ushers in a new Lylat war) is also the most difficult boss fight and is also the boss fight where James shows up at the end and is playable, which seems to allude to the fact it would be the canon ending.
